Key points
This summary is part of the terms. We are drawing these points to your attention before you agree, because they limit what you can claim from us or put responsibilities on you.
Before you use Evabob
It's a test product with test money. Evabob runs on public test networks. Test dollars have no value and can't be cashed out. Never send real money to an Evabob address. Anything you send from a real network is likely to be lost, and we can't recover it.
Evabob is not a bank. It isn't a deposit account, an investment, a savings scheme or a licensed money-transmission service, and no deposit insurance applies.
Payments are usually final. Once a payment is confirmed on a network, Evabob can't reverse it. Check the recipient, amount and network before you enter your PIN.
You control your wallet. Your PIN approves payments and Evabob never sees it. If you lose access to your email and device, we may not be able to restore your account.
We are not a party to your deals. Held payments, links, circles and collections move money between users on rules you agree to. We don't guarantee the goods, work or people involved.
Our liability is limited, as set out in section 19 and section 20, except where the law doesn't allow it to be.
Disputes go first to our support team, then to mediation and arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria (section 24). This doesn't remove your right to complain to a regulator.
1. About these terms
These terms of use ("terms") are an agreement between you and Evabob, the registered business name of the company that operates the service ("Evabob", "we", "us" or "our"). They apply to the Evabob mobile app, the websites at evabob.app and its subdomains, public payment, receipt, claim and link pages, the Evabob API, and every related feature (together, the "service").
By creating an account, tapping to accept, or using the service, you agree to these terms and to the rules shown in the app before you confirm an action. If you don't agree, don't use the service. The Privacy notice explains how we handle personal data; it is not a contract, but you should read it.
If a screen in the app shows specific rules for a feature (for example, the release rules for a held payment), those rules apply to that action alongside these terms. If they conflict, the rules shown for that action apply to it.
2. A testnet preview, not a financial product
- Test networks only. The service runs on public test networks, including Arc Testnet, Ethereum Sepolia and Base Sepolia. Balances are test tokens (such as test USDC and test EURC) with no monetary value. They can't be redeemed, exchanged for money or cashed out through Evabob.
- Not a bank or deposit. Evabob doesn't take deposits, lend, pay interest or offer investments. Nothing in the service is a savings product, a collective investment scheme or an offer of securities, and no deposit insurance scheme covers any balance.
- Not yet a regulated service. Under Nigeria's Investments and Securities Act 2025, businesses providing services involving virtual or digital assets with real value must be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The preview is offered on test networks so that no real value moves. Before Evabob handles real money, in Nigeria or elsewhere, we will obtain the approvals required and publish updated terms.
- Things will change. Features may be incomplete, change, pause, stop working or be withdrawn, and test networks may be reset, stall or change their rules. Test balances, history or records may be lost as a result.
- Exchange rates are guides. Naira amounts are shown at a fixed guide rate (currently ₦1,390 to the dollar) so you can read amounts in a familiar currency. That rate is not an offer to exchange money, and nothing is exchanged into naira.
- Evabob doesn't issue the tokens. USDC and EURC are issued by Circle and its affiliates, not by Evabob.
3. Who can use Evabob
You may use the service only if all of these are true:
- you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract;
- you are not on a sanctions list kept by the United Nations, Nigeria, the United States, the United Kingdom or the European Union, and are not owned or controlled by, or acting for, anyone who is;
- you are not in a country or region where using the service would be against the law or subject to comprehensive sanctions;
- you are using the service for yourself, or with authority for a business you name, and not on behalf of anyone else without telling us;
- we have not previously closed your account for breaking these terms.
You must give accurate information and keep your email address current. One person may hold one personal account unless we agree otherwise.
4. Your account and security
- You sign in with a code sent to your email. Anyone who can read your email may be able to sign in as you, so keep your email account secure.
- Your wallet PIN approves payments. You may also use an app lock PIN, a fingerprint or Face ID. Keep all of them private and don't share your device unlocked.
- Evabob will never ask for your PIN, recovery phrase, private key or full agent API key. Anyone who does is not Evabob.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account with your credentials, including payments approved with your PIN or biometrics and actions taken by software you give a key to.
- If you think someone else has access to your account, tell us straight away at support@evabob.app, and use the Stop it option if the app shows a "Was this you?" alert.
- Account recovery depends on proving you control your email and, where needed, other checks. We may refuse or delay a recovery we can't verify. That protects you, but it can mean an account is not recoverable.
5. @usernames and profile content
- You choose your @username during signup. It is permanent once signup finishes and can't be transferred. A deleted account's @username stays reserved and won't be reissued.
- @usernames may not contain "evabob", impersonate someone, mislead people about who you are, infringe someone's rights or be offensive. We may withdraw an @username that breaks these rules, and may reserve or refuse names for security reasons.
- Your display name, photo and anything else you add to your profile must be yours to use and must not break these terms. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and send that content to operate the service, for as long as it's on the service and for any backup period after.
6. Your wallet
- Your wallet is created and secured with Circle's wallet infrastructure. Payments from it need your approval, given through your PIN or biometrics. Evabob can't move money out of your wallet without an approval you have given.
- Standing approvals. Some features ask you to approve future movements in advance. Examples: joining a money circle (members approve their whole commitment), releasing a held payment when its rules say so, finishing a move between networks, or sending a GA payment once the network confirms your approval. By approving, you authorise those movements under the rules shown to you.
- Circle and other providers set their own rules. They may screen, delay or refuse a transaction, for example for sanctions compliance, and those decisions are outside our control.
- Wallets exist on public networks outside Evabob. If you delete your Evabob account, you won't be able to reach that wallet from Evabob, so move any balance out first.
7. Payments
- You check before you pay. You are responsible for the recipient, amount, currency, network and any address you enter. Payee checks, look-alike warnings, the 10-minute pause and family check are aids. They are not a guarantee that a payee is who they claim to be.
- Finality. A payment confirmed on a network generally can't be reversed, cancelled or recalled by Evabob. You can cancel a paused or held payment only where the app offers it, before it completes.
- Timing. Arc payments usually settle in seconds. Moves between networks can take minutes or many hours, and may stall. We will try to finish stalled moves as described in the app, but we don't promise a delivery time.
- Failures. Payments can fail or be delayed because of network congestion, provider outages, rate limits, insufficient balance or security controls. If a payment fails, check Activity before trying again so you don't pay twice.
- Payments from outside Evabob are recorded when we detect them. We can't guarantee we detect every one, and we're not responsible for tokens sent on an unsupported network or to the wrong address.
- Limits. We may set limits on amounts, frequency and features to protect you and the service, and may change them.
8. Held payments, claim links and reviews
A held payment locks money in a contract until its rules say where it goes. The rules shown before you confirm apply. In summary:
- Claim links. Money sent to an email with no account is held for 7 days. It's released when someone signs up with that email and sets up a wallet. Otherwise it returns to the sender. If you send to the wrong email, the wrong person can claim it.
- Work and orders. Cancelling before delivery returns the money to the payer. Once the worker or seller marks delivery, the payer has 7 days to release it or raise a problem; if they do nothing, it releases to the worker or seller. Held money can go only to the person it was locked for, or back to the person who paid.
- Reviews. If a payer cancels after delivery, an Evabob reviewer decides where the held money goes, using what both people submit and the written criteria in the app. A reviewer decides only where the held money goes. It is not a judgment about the quality of work, a legal ruling, or legal, financial or professional advice. We make reviews in good faith but can't guarantee any outcome. A decision doesn't affect any legal rights you have against the other person.
- We are not a party. Your agreement for work or goods is between you and the other person. Evabob is not an employer, agent, seller, buyer or guarantor for either of you.
9. Selling with a link
- If you sell with a link, you are the seller. You are responsible for your listing being accurate, for having the right to sell what you list, for delivering it, and for following the law that applies to you, including consumer-protection, advertising and tax law.
- You must not list anything illegal, counterfeit, stolen, dangerous, regulated without the required licence, or prohibited by section 14.
- Track records shown on link pages come from activity on Evabob. They aren't endorsements and can't be relied on as a guarantee.
- We may remove a link or stop orders at any time if we believe it breaks these terms or puts buyers at risk.
10. Money circles and collections
- A money circle or collection is an arrangement between its members, run by contracts on the network that have no administrator. Evabob provides the tools; it doesn't organise, manage or guarantee the arrangement, and is not a trustee of the money.
- We don't guarantee that members pay. If a member misses a contribution, the round pays out what came in and the member who missed owes whoever they shorted, as described in the app. Recovering that debt is between members.
- A collection is released when it reaches its target, or refunded if its deadline passes short. Whoever starts a collection is responsible for its purpose being lawful and honestly described, and for any fundraising, charity or tax rules that apply.
- Circles and collections are not investments, and you should not expect any return from them.
11. The Evabob Agent
- The Evabob Agent answers questions and prepares actions. It can be wrong or incomplete. It does not give financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and you shouldn't rely on it for those.
- It can't move money. It prepares a confirmation card, and nothing happens until you check it and approve with your PIN. You are responsible for what you approve.
- Fuller answers use an outside AI model only if you turn that on in Profile. The Privacy notice explains what is sent.
12. Agent wallets, API keys and paywalls
- An agent wallet lets software you choose spend from a separate balance within an allowance you set. Any payment made with your agent key, within its allowance, counts as authorised by you, even if the software behaves unexpectedly.
- Keep keys secret. If a key leaks, revoke or rotate it and use Freeze all. The loop breaker, allowances and freezes help limit losses but can't prevent every unwanted payment.
- If you sell through a paywall or link to people or software, you are responsible for what you sell and for having the right to sell it. "Pay after proof" checks follow the rules in the app. They don't guarantee that what a seller delivers is accurate, lawful or fit for your purpose.
- You must not use agent features to overload, scrape or attack any service, or to get around another service's terms.
13. Public and permanent information
- Public networks permanently record wallet addresses, amounts and transaction references. Evabob can't change or erase them.
- A note written on the network (where the send screen says "anyone can see it, forever") is public and permanent. Never put private or confidential information in it.
- Your @username is linked to your wallet on the network so people can pay it. Where enabled, a one-way hash of your email is linked too, so money can be held for you before you join.
- Anyone with a receipt, request, claim, link or collection page you share can see what that page shows until it expires or you revoke it. They can also share it on.
14. Acceptable use
You must not use the service, or help anyone else use it, to:
- break any law or regulation, including laws on fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, gambling, consumer protection or tax;
- deceive people, including scams, fake receipts, fake invoices, fake listings, impersonation, phishing or "wrong number" payment requests;
- buy, sell or promote illegal, stolen, counterfeit or dangerous goods or services, or content that sexually exploits anyone;
- harass, threaten or spam people, or send hateful, violent or abusive content in chat, notes, names or listings;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- move money you are not authorised to move, or use someone else's account, device, email or key;
- probe, scan or test the service's security, or get around limits, rate limits, reviews or security controls. The exception is responsible research reported privately to support@evabob.app without harming users or data;
- copy, reverse engineer, decompile or scrape the service, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- interfere with the service, other users or the networks, including by automated traffic, malware or denial-of-service activity;
- present test tokens as having real value, or use the preview to raise, hold or move real money for others.
15. Limits, suspension and cooperation with authorities
- We may refuse, pause or limit any action, feature or account, or close an account, if we reasonably believe it's needed to comply with the law, protect users or the service, prevent fraud or abuse, or respond to a breach of these terms.
- Where it's lawful and safe, we will tell you what we did and why. We may not be able to give reasons where the law or an investigation prevents it.
- We can act only on what Evabob controls. We can't freeze or reverse money already on a public network, except through the rules of the contracts described in the app.
- We may share information with law enforcement, regulators and courts where the law requires it, or where we reasonably believe it's necessary to prevent harm, as described in the Privacy notice.
16. Fees and taxes
- Fees are shown on the review screen before you approve. On testnet, all fees are charged in test tokens. The current fees are listed in the product guide.
- We may change fees for future actions. A fee shown when you approve an action is the fee for that action.
- Network providers and other services may charge their own fees, which can change without notice.
- You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your activity.
17. Other providers and links
The service relies on others, including Circle (wallets, tokens, transfers), Dynamic (sign-in), public blockchain networks, cloud hosting, email, notification and AI providers. Their services have their own terms and may fail, change or stop. We are not responsible for their acts, outages or decisions. We will pick providers with care, and we remain responsible for our own obligations to you. Links to other sites, such as the Circle Faucet or a network explorer, are for convenience; we don't control those sites.
18. Intellectual property
- The service, the Evabob name and logo, and all our software, designs and content belong to Evabob or its licensors. We give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app and service for their intended purpose under these terms.
- Open-source components are licensed under their own terms.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you or owing you anything.
19. Disclaimers and risks
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any promise or warranty that it will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate or fit for a particular purpose, or that any feature will keep working or become a real-money product.
Using digital-asset and blockchain technology carries risks you accept by using the service, including:
- payments that can't be reversed, and loss from mistakes such as a wrong address or network;
- bugs or weaknesses in software and smart contracts. Evabob's contracts have automated tests but no independent audit yet;
- network outages, congestion, reorganisations, resets and changes to network rules;
- the failure, suspension or policy decisions of providers such as Circle;
- changes in law or regulation that restrict or end features;
- fraud and social-engineering attacks by third parties.
Nothing in these terms excludes any warranty, right or remedy that the law says can't be excluded, including your rights under Nigeria's Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
20. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, data or goodwill, however caused.
- We are not liable for loss caused by your own mistakes (including a wrong recipient, amount, address or network), your failure to keep your credentials secure, software or people you authorised, the acts of other users, the value (or lack of value) of any test token, events outside our reasonable control, or the providers and networks described in section 17.
- Our total liability to you for all claims connected with the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the fees you paid Evabob in that period and ₦50,000 (or its equivalent in your currency).
These limits don't apply to liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for deliberate wrongdoing, or to any liability that can't lawfully be limited or excluded.
21. Your responsibility to us
To the extent the law allows, you will compensate Evabob for reasonable losses, costs (including reasonable legal fees) and claims by others that result from your breach of these terms, your breach of the law, content you post, goods or services you sell, or your deliberate misuse of the service. This doesn't apply where the loss was caused by our own breach or negligence.
22. Changes to the service and these terms
- We may change, pause or withdraw features, especially during the preview.
- We may update these terms. For changes that materially affect you, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. The date at the top shows the latest version.
- If you don't agree with a change, stop using the service and delete your account before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
23. Ending this agreement
- You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from Profile › Delete account. Move any balance out first.
- We may end this agreement or close your account under section 15, or by giving you at least 30 days' notice if we stop offering the service.
- Ending the agreement doesn't undo payments already made or held-payment rules already agreed. Sections that by their nature should continue, including 8, 13 and 18 to 25, continue after it ends.
24. Disputes and governing law
- Talk to us first. Email support@evabob.app with a description of the problem. We will try to resolve it within 30 days.
- Mediation. If it isn't resolved, either of us may refer it to mediation under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023.
- Arbitration. If mediation doesn't resolve it within 30 days, the dispute will be finally decided by arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023. The arbitration will be seated in Lagos, Nigeria, before a single arbitrator, and conducted in English. Each of us may take part remotely.
- What stays open to you. This doesn't stop you from bringing a claim in a small-claims court, complaining to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or another regulator, or seeking urgent relief from a court. Nor does it stop you from relying on consumer-protection laws of the country where you live that can't be excluded by agreement.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
25. General
- Whole agreement. These terms, with the rules shown in the app for each action, are the whole agreement between us about the service.
- Severability. If a court or arbitrator finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force, and that part applies to the fullest extent allowed.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over the service, and your rights won't be reduced as a result.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including network, provider or power failures, and changes in law.
- Notices. We may give you notices in the app or by email to your account address. Send notices to us at the address below.
- Language. These terms are written in English. If we translate them, the English version applies.
